Personal Lines Underwriter - Atlanta, GA

Join our established, leading Wholesale Insurance Broker client as an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter!

What you'll do:

• Build, manage, and grow a profitable personal lines book of business.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, serving as a primary point of contact.

• Execute targeted marketing strategies to drive new business and maximize renewal retention.

• Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks, ensuring proper coverage, pricing, and underwriting discipline.

• Handle complex new and renewal accounts, including unique or hard-to-place risks.

• Collaborate with brokerage facilities and leadership on underwriting referrals and deal strategy.

• Track and analyze performance metrics (hit ratio, retention, premium growth, loss ratio) and take action to improve results.

• Mentor and support Associate Underwriters, contributing to team development and performance.

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of underwriting experience (commercial or personal lines), with E&S experience preferred.

• Strong sales acumen and a relationship-driven mindset.

• Proven ability to manage and grow a book of business.

• Solid underwriting judgment with experience handling complex or non-standard risks.

• Effective communicator with strong negotiation and client-facing skills.

• Ability to analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Active insurance license; CPCU, CIC, or similar designations are a plus.

• Motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire for continued learning and career growth.

• Willingness to travel as needed to support agency relationships.
