Personal Lines Underwriter (E&S) – Houston, TX

Join our Super-Regional, Tampa Based Carrier Client who is expanding into Texas and searching for a Personal Lines Underwriter! 

What You’ll Do:

• Review and evaluate homeowners insurance applications to determine eligibility, pricing, and risk.

• Analyze underwriting information such as loss histories, inspections, endorsements, and renewals.

• Communicate with agents, policyholders, and internal teams to ensure smooth processing and excellent service.

• Build and maintain strong agency relationships to support growth and retention.

• Handle higher‑value or complex risks within authority guidelines.

• Maintain compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.

• Participate in team initiatives and collaborate across Underwriting, Claims, Product, Sales, and Operations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Licenses 2‑20, 20‑44PL, or 4‑40 preferred.

• 3+ years property & casualty experience and 1+ year underwriting experience.

• Strong understanding of P&C underwriting, regulations, and risk evaluation.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and research tools.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Relationship‑builder with agents and internal partners.

• Detail‑oriented, organized, proactive, and adaptable.

• Team‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
